Teknologi.id - Google has rolled out an update for its Pixel series which allows its users to take photos in extremely dimly lit areas. That's right. If you have a Google Pixel, Pixel 2 or even Pixel 3, you can take amazing photos in the dark and show off to your friends who're probably Apple or Samsung users.

The mode is called Night Sight and Pixel users do not need to fork out additional cash to get their hands on it. To get it, simply update the Google Camera app at the Playstore. Once done, go to the camera, swipe to "more" tab and select "Night". And wallah! You can take well lit images in extremely dark places. Yes, the Night Sight does not utilise the camera's flash function at all.

It's quite a feat what Google has done because previously, in order to get well exposed shots, folks had to hold their cameras or smartphones still. The more stabilised the device, the sharper the images would look. But if you move - even ever so slightly - you would have to retake the entire shot again.

The innovation behind Night Sight lies in Google Pixel's prowess to reassemble multiple images into one single image within seconds a photo is taken.

There's an algorithm working its magic behind the scene too. Calculations are made even before an image is taken. It takes up to six seconds for Night Sight to process the 15 frames it takes to develop one image. Pretty cool, huh? (DWK)
