1. Flyright
Traveling to another country is incredibly exciting; however, getting organized to do so can be a pain. Luckily, Flyright (Android, iOS) curates all of the essential information about the country you’re visiting in one place. To get started, simply pop in the country that issued you your passport and your destination. Flyright will then notify you of key information to utilize before and during your trip. For instance, the app will show you if there are any visa requirements and also whether you need any vaccinations before traveling.
2. CoinCalc
When traveling overseas you want to be able to enjoy the sights, not stress out about how much stuff costs. Unfortunately, currency conversion can leave you scratching your head as you try to rely on rusty math skills to calculate prices on the fly. Luckily, CoinCalc (Android) takes the pressure of currency conversion off of your shoulders so that you can get back to enjoying your holiday.
3. TravelSpend
International travel can be very expensive. Flights and accommodations can put a serious dent in your wallet, not to mention all of the money you’re going to spend once you land. In our increasingly cashless society, it can be difficult to keep track of your spending. Fortunately, TravelSpend (Android, iOS) is an app that makes tracking and organizing your spending super easy.
TravelSpend logs all of your expenses and organizes your spending into categories like food and gifts. This allows users to break down their spending to see where their money is going, allowing users to budget their money effectively. The app does not rely on an Internet connection to work and automatically converts foreign currencies into your home currency. TravelSpend is free to use; however, there is a premium version that offers additional features like being able to collaborate with other people to keep track of expenses together.
4. FLIO
One of the worst aspects of traveling is the time you spend sitting around in airports. Everything is overpriced, and finding a place to charge your gadget can be a test of your patience. To put it simply, spending an extended period of time in an airport is like wandering around in purgatory. Fortunately, the FLIO app (Android, iOS) is hoping to change that once and for all.
5. Google Translate
If you’re traveling to a country and don’t speak the native language, Google Translate (Android, iOS) can help you avoid frustration. The app is free and easy to use. Simply tap a button, speak, and Google Translate will either display the translated text on your screen or speak it out loud. Currently, the app is able to translate 103 different languages. However, the text to speech function is only available for 32 of them.
